KUALA LUMPUR (June 21): A former employee of Norway-based Aker Solutions, who was sacked in 2018 and is now at the centre of purported text messages that implicated two senior lawyers in fixing court decisions, today lodged a police report denying that she was the one who disseminated the messages to the media outlets which published them.
Seetha Kumarasamy lodged a report this morning at the Kelana Jaya police station.
"I am lodging this as a cover report to state that I am not involved in the publication or dissemination of the news reporting or any updates or follow-ups whatsoever. I have also not volunteered any interviews," she said in her police report that was sighted by The Edge.
"I am abiding the court order and have refrained from any communication or comments whatsoever as the matter is in court, and I am made to understand that there is ongoing investigation," she added.
She confirmed that two local Aker Malaysia entities had filed a suit against her and that she had also filed a suit against three Aker companies here in Malaysia and Aker Solutions ASA (based in Norway) where both cases are currently in court.
Seetha said she was Aker Solutions Malaysia Sdn Bhd's director for legal affairs for four years before her suspension that led to her termination.
Yesterday, senior lawyer Datuk Lim Chee Wee issued a statement to say that the purported text messages that implied that he had assured Aker that it would win the court cases involving Seetha because everything had been fixed were fabrications. He has lodged a police report on the matter.
Similarly, another senior lawyer, Rosli Dahlan, also denied the United Kingdom-based Sarawak Report's allegation of linking him to Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat, where he denied knowing the top judge personally or knowing her phone number or had contacted her.
He further said this was criminal defamation and wanted the police to investigate.
Earlier this month, a manager of Aker here, Ahmad Hatta Kamaruzzaman, was charged in the Sessions Court on June 11 with allegedly making false representations regarding the ownership of one of its Malaysian units in order to win licences from national oil company Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas).
Ahmad Hatta claimed trial to the charge under Section 417 of the Penal Code before Sessions Court Judge Izralizam Sanusi.
