KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 9): Perak Corp Bhd has finally appointed a new chief executive officer (CEO), nearly four months after Zainal Iskandar Ismail resigned from the debt-ridden company.

The new CEO, Rosmin Mohamed, was previously employed by the group's substantial shareholder Sime Darby Property Bhd, said Perak Corp in a stock exchange filing.

Perak Corp is 52.27%-owned by the Perak State Development Corporation, and 6.13% by Sime Darby Property.

Rosmin, 52, has over 30 years of experience in project development and management, regional development, marketing and sales, operations optimisation and customer satisfaction improvement.

He joined Sime Darby Property Malaysia in June 2018 as the senior vice-president for Malaysia Vision Valley project.

In November 2020, he was given a new role and responsibility to lead the Special Economic Zone Division in Sime Darby Property.

Prior to that, Rosmin was the senior director of development division at the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA), responsible for the positioning, strategic planning and delivery of NCIA's physical and economic development.

Shares of Perak Corp closed unchanged at 25 sen on Monday (Jan 9), giving the group a market capitalisation of RM25 million.
