KUALA LUMPUR (March 23): Rubber glove stocks emerged among Bursa Malaysia's most actively traded counters so far on Thursday (March 23), with Top Glove Corp Bhd in the second position.

Shares in Top Glove, the world's biggest glove manufacturer, rose 4.7% to hit an intraday high of 99.5 sen. At 2.55pm, the stock was trading at 99 sen per share, with 99.19 million shares changing hands. Its share price had risen 13.8% year-to-date (YTD).

Shares in Careplus Group Bhd and Hartalega Holdings Bhd were also in the top active list. Careplus shares increased as much as 8.2% to hit an intraday high of 33 sen. At 2.56pm, it was trading at 32.5 sen, with 39.98 million shares done. However, its share price had fallen 32.3% YTD.

Shares in Hartalega, meanwhile, surged 4.6% to reach an intraday high of RM2.06 in early trade. Hartalega also emerged among Bursa's top gainers. At 2.58pm, it was trading at RM2.05, with 22.44 million shares done. The stock is up 24.1% so far this year.

Other rubber glove stocks that were also up included Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd and Supermax Corp Bhd. At 3pm, Kossan shares were up five sen or 3.85% at RM1.35, with 12.78 million shares done. Supermax's counter was also up three sen or 3.26% at 95 sen, with 18.92 million shares traded.
