KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 29): Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat, representing the entire judiciary body, wished condolences to the family of the late Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram, former Federal Court judge, on his passing on Sunday (Jan 29).
In a statement, the CJ said the passing of Sri Ram was a huge loss to the judiciary body of Malaysia, as well as the country’s legal fraternity. She recorded that the late Sri Ram had contributed tremendously to the judiciary system throughout his tenure as a judge at the Court of Appeal and the Federal Court.
Sri Ram spent 15 years as a judge at the Court of Appeal from its inception in 1994, until he was ascended to the Federal Court in 2009.
“His passing is indeed a huge loss that will be felt by the entire judiciary family, as well as the nation,” said Tengku Maimun in the statement.
