KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 31): Sabah-based Suria Capital Holdings Bhd, which is engaged in investment holding and property development, has appointed deputy head of Sabah division for Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia Datuk Juslie Ajirol as one of its new independent and non-executive directors effective on Tuesday (Feb 1).

Juslie Ajirol, 68, has over 40 years of experience in public service. He served as a political secretary to the ministry for Sabah Public Works Department and Ministry of Rural Development in Sabah from 1995 to 1999.

"His experience also includes 20 years in corporate sector as chairman of government-linked companies, namely Cement Industries Sabah (2000-2004) and Sabah Urban Development Corp (1999-2018)," according to Suria Capital's filing with the bourse.

The group's filings also named the other two new directors: chartered accountant Datuk Alexandra Chin @ Fui Lin and professional engineer Jerome Jimbangan @ Terence.

Chin has over 35 years of experience in accounting, taxation and auditing. She has been a member of the ACCA Malaysia Advisory Committee since 2017 and the chairman of the ACCA Malaysia Women's Network since 2018.

Meanwhile, Jimbangan is a professional engineer with his own consultancy firm, Jurutera Perunding JJ. He has been a director of the Sabah Housing and Urban Development Board since February 2021.

Suria Capital shares were trading down two sen or 1.69% to RM1.16 as of the time of writing on Monday, with a market value of RM401.15 million.
