KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 31): The FBM KLCI slipped at mid-morning today in line with most regional markets, weighed by index-linked blue chips.

At 10.04am, the FBM KLCI shed 1.99 points to 1,668.28. The index had earlier risen to a high of 1,676.83.

The top losers included Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd, Tasek Corporation Bhd,Petronas Gas Bhd, Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd, Hartalega Holdings Bhd, Genting Plantations Bhd, Heineken Malaysia Bhd, Gadang Holdings Bhd and Petronas Dagangan Bhd.

The actives included Felda Global, Kinsteel Bhd, Sumatec Resources Bhd, XOX Bhd, Hiap Teck Venture Bhd, Hibiscus Petroleum Bhd and Hubline Bhd.

The gainers included British American Tobacco (M) Bhd, Apex Healthcare Bhd, Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd, BIMB Holdings Bhd, Genting Malaysia Bhd and Tenaga Nasional Bhd.

Asian stocks got off to a shaky start on Monday after a renewed FBI probe of U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's use of a personal email server sparked fresh tumult in markets, just days before the Nov. 8 presidential vote, according to Reuters.

The Japanese yen, seen as a safe-haven in times of uncertainty, rose slightly against the U.S. dollar, it said.
