KUALA LUMPUR (April 16): Shares in WZ Satu Bhd rose 25% at mid-morning today after it secured a contract worth RM243.44 million for the provision of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of effluent management at source project.

At 10.16am, WZ Satu rose four sen to 20 sen with 5.41 million shares traded. The stock had earlier risen to 21.5 sen.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the company said its wholly-owned subsidiary as the consortium partner, together with the consortium leader HRSB Holdings Sdn Bhd, has accepted the letter of award for the RM243.44 million contract from Malaysia Refining Company Sdn Bhd (MRCSB) on Tuesday (April 13).

The 27-month contract is targeted to be completed by June 30, 2023, WZ Satu said.

It expects the project to contribute to its future earnings and net assets per share for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2021 (FY21) to FY23.
