iNYALA

Witness Malaysia’s first interactive light art exhibition, iNYALA. This showcase explores when light and dark intersect with nine installation artworks that create a digital park. Inspired by urban living, the exhibit wants you to imagine the impossible. A unique collaboration between art and technology, escape through the incredible sensory experience from today to Nov 30, from 10am to 10pm (closed on Mondays). iNYALA is created by students from DASEIN Academy of Art, The One Academy, MMY, Raffles College of Higher Education and UCSI University, all under the guidance of industry professionals. Art of Time 2019

The return of Swiss Watch Gallery’s Art of Time event brings a showcase of the world’s most prized watchmakers. This sixth edition is headlined by brands such as Arnold & Son, Girard-Perregaux, Graham, IWC Schaffhausen, Jaquet Droz, Oris, Parmigiani Fleurier, TAG Heuer, Tudor, Ulysse Nardin and Zenith. In the 4,000 sq ft space in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, guests would feel transported to the Swiss Alps, and they can also enjoy a special Tumi pop-up highlighting the brand’s latest collection. Fracture/Fiction

The exhibition, Fracture/Fiction: Selections from the Ilham Collection, features 93 works by 45 contemporary artists. Selected from Ilham Gallery’s growing permanent collection, these artists represent voices from Southeast Asia and South Asia. The works explore the artists’ perspectives on social conditions today. Engaging with everyday life experiences, the artworks range in geographies, socio-political contexts, topics and themes, creating expressive and rich narratives. Sherlock Holmes in the Missing Script

Cempaka International School presents Sherlock Holmes in the Missing Script, a parody that features author Sir Arthur Conan Doyles’ famed detective character and his companion Dr Watson. Also featuring other characters such as inspector Lestrade and Irene Addler, the story investigates a missing persons case, with mishaps and slapstick comedy. Food Lore

At 10pm on Sunday on HBO GO and HBBO (Astro Chanel 411 and 431 HD) catch a brand-new original anthology drama series called Food Lore. This eight episode hour-long series is shot across eight countries across Asia. Exploring the human condition with food-related narratives, this series takes viewers through an emotional journey coloured by distinct Asian cultures. Select episodes will also debut at the 32nd Tokyo International Film Festival and the 30th Singapore International Film Festival. Each episode is directed by different directors from Asia, including Malaysian director Ho Yuhang who directs episode eight, Stray Dogs. I Was Not Ready Da

After his fast-selling 2014 show Madrasi Da, Aravind SA is back with a new show, I Was Not Ready Da. Tackling things that he least expected, such as his jump to becoming a viral sensation and becoming a comic, SA will have you in stitches. Taking audiences through his strange references and odd experiences, his show has been a sell-out in the US, Australia, India and Singapore. Jacqui Naylor

Enjoy the incredible voice of Jacqui Naylor, a singer and songwriter who performs music by Jonny Mercer, David Bryne and her own original music. Having recorded and released 10 albums throughout the world, Naylor appeals to a wide audience, covering all moods of jazz. She is also the subject of Lucky Girl, a documentary film. Naylor graces the Alexis Bistro stage with Art Khu on piano, Lewis Pragasam on drums and Norman Rahman on bass. Calligraphy workshop

Ever wanted to improve your penmanship to add that extra flourish for cards or notes? Learn how to write calligraphy without the expensive and specialised instruments at this workshop. You will use regular markers and pencils to create strokes that imitate typefaces such as Old English, Frank Lloyd Wright, Vivaldi Freestle and you can even style your own. You will receive practice sheets, a handcrafted calligraphy poster/wrapping paper made of recycled paper, a handcrafted greeting card, and if you bring your own mug or water bottle you can have it customised with a calligraphic design.
