KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 30): Top Glove Corp Bhd rose as much as 22 sen or 3.66% to RM6.23 when the counter resumed trading at 10am.

At 11.31am, the shares pared some gains at RM6.10, still up 9 sen or 1.5%.

The counter saw 11.57 million shares traded.

Trading in the securities of Top Glove was halted from 9am to 10am this morning.

A bourse filing yesterday showed Top Glove founder and chairman Tan Sri Lim Wee Chai continued to increase his stake in the company.

He spent RM19.97 million to acquire 3.29 million shares at an average price of RM6.07 per share on Dec 29.

This has brought his direct and indirect shareholding in the company to 26.2% and 8.62%, respectively.

Including the latest transaction, Lim has spent RM69.72 million to mop up Top Glove shares in December.

On Dec 14, Lim spent RM19.98 million to buy 3.1 million shares in Top Glove with an average price of between RM6.39 and RM6.49.

On Dec 9 and 10, he also spent RM29.78 million to purchase 4.28 million shares in the company with an average price of RM6.93 to RM6.99.
