tong_masthead_theedgemarketsREGIONAL markets traded mixed yesterday, following overnight losses on Wall Street. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.47% to close at 18,203.37 while the S&P 500 lost 0.45% to close at 2,107.78.

Bellwether indices in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Australia lost between 0.54% to as much as 0.96%. However, Philippines’ PSEi Index bucked the trend, gaining 0.92% to emerge among the top gainers in the region.

Back home, the benchmark FBM KLCI gained 0.24% to close at 1825.54. However, market breadth was negative with decliners outpacing gainers by around 1.4 to 1.

In other news, Brent crude stayed above $60 per barrel, supported by a rise in Saudi crude official selling prices to Asia and the US as well as air strikes on oil facilities in Libya. WTI crude held steady around $51 per barrel. Meanwhile, the ringgit declined against the greenback at RM3.65.

Yesterday, I sold all my shares in the following companies:

• MClean: 41,800 shares at 0.181 sen.

• Raya: 48,700 shares at 0.19 sen.

I also bought into the following companies:

• Complete Logistics: 11,400 shares at 87.5 sen.

• Jiankun: 30,000 shares at 33.5 sen.

My portfolio now has a total value of RM99,204.60 and is down 0.8% since inception, but is still outperforming the FBM KLCI by 2.8%.
