KUALA LUMPUR (April 4): Tomei Consolidated Bhd has proposed a first and final dividend of three sen per share for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2021 (FY21).

In a bourse filing, the jeweller said the entitlement date and date of payment have yet to be finalised. It paid 2 sen dividend per share for FY20.

For FY21, Tomei posted a 5% increase in net profit to RM32.77 million, from RM31.17 million in the previous year. Revenue rose 33% to RM736.07 million from RM552.4 million.

The group attributed the improved results to both its retail segment and manufacturing and wholesale segment contributing positively.

The retail segment posted a 23% increase in revenue to RM483.75 million in FY21 from RM392.72 million in FY20, despite the group’s retail outlets being unable to open for business during the lockdown period from June to August in 2021, said Tomei.

Meanwhile, revenue from the manufacturing and wholesale segment rose 26% to RM265.38 million from RM210.73 million, mainly due to an increase in sales volume.

Tomei’s share price closed two sen or 1.96% higher at RM1.04 on Monday (April 4), giving the group a market capitalisation of RM144.14 million.
