KUALA LUMPUR (April 23): Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) has resumed its unifi Internet installation activities since yesterday at customers’ premises located at Ministry of Health (MoH) and National Security Council-designated green zones.

According to the MoH, green zones represent districts that have zero Covid-19 cases.

TM said in a statement today that for service restoration activities, TM technical teams will attend to its customer service issues, including work inside customers' premises, provided that the premises is located in green zones in line with guidelines set by the MoH and NSC.

"For those residing in the yellow and red zone areas, the restoration activities will be performed up to the distribution point only and customers will need to set up their customer premises equipment themselves with the assistance from the TM technical team. However, restoration activities will continue as currently practised for the premises (internal and external) for hospitals, clinics and other critical agencies.

"In the meantime, for new unifi Home customers residing in the yellow zones awaiting installation of their fibre broadband services; they will be provided with unifi Air as an interim solution to their broadband Internet access. This wireless service will be available to customers residing within TM’s LTE coverage areas,” TM said.

At 5pm, TM's share price closed down one sen or 0.25% at RM4.02 for a market capitalisation of RM15.29 billion. The stock saw 1.08 million shares traded.
