KIP Real Estate Investment Trust (+ve)
TRADING of shares in KIP Real Estate Investment Trust (KIP REIT) (fundamental: 2.8/3, valuation: 2.7/3) triggered our momentum algorithm yesterday for the first time this year.

The stock rose 1.5 sen or 1.72% to 88.5 sen yesterday, with 582,000 shares done, compared with the average 214,951 shares recorded in the past 200 days.

On Jan 15, the group said KIP Mall Kota Warisan, the retail mall in Sepang owned by the Kepong Industrial Park Group, may be injected into KIP REIT.

The group said it is exploring the possible injection of the asset into the fund by next year.

It also reported that for the second quarter ended Dec 31, 2018 (2QFY19), KIP REIT’s net property income fell 3.4% to RM10.45 million, from RM10.82 million a year earlier, on lower rental fee and higher property operating expenses, despite a higher occupancy rate of 87.9% compared with 85% previously.
