Ekovest Bhd (-ve)
TRADING of shares in Ekovest Bhd (fundamental: 1.3/3, valuation: 1.4/3) triggered our momentum algorithm for the third time this year. The last time it triggered our algorithm was on Feb 21.

The counter closed 13.56% or eight sen higher at 67 sen — with 120.47 million shares changing hands — giving the group a market capitalisation of RM1.43 billion. In comparison, its 200-day average trading volume was 10.91 million shares.

Last Friday, the government announced that it would reinstate the Bandar Malaysia project due to the major impact it would have on the local economy. The project has an expected gross development value of RM140 billion. IWH-CREC Sdn Bhd — a joint venture comprising Iskandar Waterfront Holdings Sdn Bhd (IWH) and China Railway Engineering Corp (M) Sdn Bhd — will take up a 60% stake in Bandar Malaysia.

Both Ekovest and IWH have a common shareholder in property tycoon Tan Sri Lim Kang Hoo.
