KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 24): The Steven Bochco Estate in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, is now for sale at US$35 million (RM157.06 million), according to a press release. The home, once owned by deceased television writer, producer Steven Bochco, was previously owned by Sylvester Stallone. Bochco’s estate is selling the property, which is listed with Aaron Kirman of Aaron Kirman Group at Compass.

Sprawled on a 1.4-acre plot in an upscale neighbourhood, the Steven Bochco Estate comprises a double lot with seven bedrooms and an overall built-up of 10,853 sq ft. Built in 1937, the estate is widely known as one of the largest and prettiest homes in the area, with several features by designer Paul Williams, including landscapes, vaulted ceilings, and a curved staircase.

According to the statement, the newly renovated main residence includes a gourmet chef's kitchen, a huge wine cellar, professional library, built-ins, formal living and dining rooms, family room with projector screen, a gym, and a private guest apartment wing. The gated and walled, park-like grounds include a pool and spa, pool house, lighted tennis court, cabana, and a guest house.

The Steven Bochco Estate is situated in The Riviera neighbourhood and is near Los Angeles’ Sunset Boulevard, Riviera Country Club, Will Rogers State Park and the Getty Museum. Celebrities who live in the area include Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and Lauren Conrad. Venice Beach, Rodeo Drive and the Sullivan Canyon Trail are also nearby.

Meanwhile, the estate’s architect Williams had designed homes for Hollywood stars including Frank Sinatra, Cary Grant, Lucille Ball as well as buildings throughout the US, including, for free, St Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis as a favour to his friend Danny Thomas, several buildings at Howard University, and the Polo Lounge in the Beverly Hills Hotel. Williams, who was the first Black architect to be admitted to the American Institute of Architects, has also created over 2,000 family homes, mostly in Los Angeles, often using his signature curved staircase and lush landscapes.
