KUALA LUMPUR (June 29): The Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) has denied news reports it is suspending its company profile service where the public can purchase corporate information.

In a statement today, SSM said it engages two service providers, namely Raffcomm Sdn Bhd and Big Dataworks Sdn Bhd, to supply SSM corporate information to the public.

SSM said Raffcomm provides its service via e-info portal, while Big Dataworks provides its service via MyData portal.

Among available services on both portals include Company Profile (ROC), Business Profile (ROB), Company Charges, Financial Comparisons, e-Info Image, Business Termination Letter, Company Watch, Attestation of Company Good Standing (ACGS), Copy of Certificate of Business Registration, Certificate of Incorporation, Certificate of Conversion and Certificate of Change of Name, Certified True Copy products — particulars of registered address, Particulars of Directors, Particulars of Shareholders and Particulars of Share Capital.

“The notice referred to in the news article was wrongly worded by one of the service providers and was published on the e-info portal. We would like to clarify that ACGS and Company Watch are actually undergoing a product enhancement exercise and are expected to be available again in July 2018,” the statement said.

“The other two products — Particulars of Share Capital and Particulars of Shareholders — mentioned in the notice, are new products currently available on the MyData portal. The products are presently being tested for final release on the e-info portal,” SSM added.

On the other hand, company profiles of all companies and business entities in Malaysia can still be purchased by the public through both service portals.

“It was never suspended and the public can continue to buy information freely. We hope this explanation would provide better clarity on the matter,” SSM said.
