KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 23): Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) has been recognised as the "Best Hospital of the Year" in Asia Pacific in the 2020 Global Health Asia Pacific Awards, said Ramsay Sime Darby Healthcare.

This is the first time a Malaysian healthcare facility has won the overall award, it said, adding that SJMC also received a joint Country Award for Best Hospital of the Year in Malaysia, and two Specialties Awards for Nephrology and Oncology (Surgical) Service Provider of the Year.

SJMC chief executive officer Trish Hogan said in a statement today that as a tertiary hospital recognised locally and internationally for 35 years, SJMC continues to steer itself forward with a resilient group of highly skilled healthcare professionals.

"We will remain committed to pushing the envelope through exemplary patient care, innovation and diagnostic expertise," he said.

In its fifth year, the Global Health APAC Awards aim to recognise medical and related facilities in the Asia Pacific region for their excellence in healthcare and patient care.

Winners are selected by consumer survey, deliberation among a panel of industry healthcare experts in the region, market research reports, and based on Global Health Asia Pacific's own healthcare knowledge, said Ramsay Sime Darby.
