KUALA LUMPUR (June 9): Shell Malaysia has been named as the Most Attractive Employer in Malaysia for 2021 by human resources (HR) solutions agency Randstad at the Randstad Employer Brand Awards.

Coming in at second and third are Nestlé Malaysia and Intel Malaysia.

In a statement today, Randstad Singapore and Malaysia managing director Jaya Dass said 2020 was one of the most challenging years for all employers in Malaysia.

Dass said the crisis underscored the critical importance of a powerful employer brand to an organisation’s success and ability to emerge stronger from the pandemic.

“Many extraordinary employers worked hard these past 12 months to ensure the safety of their employees while managing the serious economic consequences.

“Even as Malaysia is not out of the woods, we are confident that the economy will make a strong comeback in time to come.

“We hope to see local employers continue to foster meaningful relationships with their workers and strive to be the ‘people’s choice’ for work,” said Dass.

Meanwhile, Shell Malaysia country HR manager Shazmi Ali said the acknowledgement serves as a testament to its employees for making Shell a great place to work with their dedication to their customers, communities and the nation despite unprecedented challenges from the pandemic.

“We are truly grateful for this honour and understand the deep sense of responsibility it thrusts upon us.

“Shell is committed to becoming a talent powerhouse by enhancing our workforce with future-ready skills as we move forward in our journey of powering progress towards a net-zero emissions future for Malaysia and the world,” he said.
