KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 25): Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd has announced the appointment of Ahmad Amryn Abd Malek and Felix Chin Wui Choong as independent directors effective Friday (Feb 25).

The oil and gas engineering services company said in a filing that Chin and Ahmad Amryn have also been appointed to its audit and risk committee, while Ahmad Amryn was also appointed to the company’s nomination and remuneration committee.

Serba Dinamik noted that Ahmad Amryn, 45, is currently a director of Threesixty Technologies Sdn Bhd, and is also a director of Wintoni Bhd and Iretex Bhd.

“Ahmad Amryn has extensive experience in political affiliation. He was a committee member of UMNO Youth Muar Division in 2004. He was then promoted as deputy chief in 2007. In 2013 to 2016, he was appointed as a local councillor of Majlis Perbandaran Muar,” its filing read.

Meanwhile, the company said Chin, 55, was an executive director of Ire-Tex Corp Bhd prior to joining Malaysia Pacific Corp Bhd. It added that he is a global assessor for the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

“He has over 30 years of progressive experience in financial management, auditing, costing, project management and statutory compliance reporting. He has held positions of chief financial officer, finance director and financial controller in various business environments, both local and multinational corporations,” it added.

Serba Dinamik’s shares and warrants have been suspended from trading since October 2021 owing to the company’s refusal to follow Bursa Malaysia’s directive to release the fact-finding update (FFU) by Ernst & Young Consulting Sdn Bhd on its financials.

The counter last traded at 35 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM1.3 billion.
