KUALA LUMPUR (Jul 4): Seacera Group Bhd was served with a winding up statutory notice for RM15.53 million, it announced on Bursa Malaysia today.

The group was served the notice by Messrs A.S. Gill, Thong & Agnes on behalf of Suong Sdn Bh demanding payment for outstanding rental, goods and services tax and agreed liquidated damages over breaches to its tenancy agreement dated Aug 4, 2016 for its factory in Selayang, Selangor.

If the RM15.53 million is not settled within 21 days of the date of receipt, Seacera will be deemed unable to pay, and winding up proceedings may be initiated against the company.

Seacera said except for the alleged claim on the liquidated ascertained damages, the rental amount has been fully paid for.

The company is seeking the necessary legal advice to deal with the matter and further material development on the matter will be announced accordingly.
