KUALA LUMPUR (May 29): Shares in Scomi Group Bhd rose 9.09% in active trade this morning after the firm said it had arrived at an agreement to settle its RM113.96 million debt with Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank).

The group had earlier pledged 206.04 million shares in its 65.65%-owned subsidiary Scomi Energy Services Bhd for the settlement, which Maybank has agreed to.

At 9.10am, Scomi rose 9.09% or 0.5 sen to 6 sen with 2.70 million shares done.

Meanwhile, Scomi Energy was unchanged at 8 sen with 201,100 shares traded.
