KUALA LUMPUR (June 19): Perak Corp Bhd chief financial officer (CFO) Rozahan Osman has been appointed as acting group chief executive officer (CEO) of the company effective immediately.

Rozahan is replacing Datuk Aminuddin Md Desa, who resigned from his position on May 28.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Perak Corp, a company in which the Perak state government through Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Perak owns a 52.9% stake, said Rozahan, 53, has 29 years of working experience with various companies in the public practice, engineering and manufacturing sectors.

"He has extensive exposure in cost and financial management, and corporate services in these business sectors. He started his career with a large public practice in 1989 before moving to commercial sectors," said Perak Corp, adding that he had also held a position of CFO for a manufacturing company engaged in cement and building materials businesses.

Perak Corp shares closed down one sen or 1.64% at 60 sen today, with 9,200 shares done, for a market capitalisation of RM61 million. The stock has fallen 66% over the past year from RM1.77.
