KUALA LUMPUR (March 23):  RHB Banking Group said its Yung Kong Branch as well as the RHB Islamic Bank – Jalan Satok branch in Kuching, Sarawak will be temporarily closed from March 23 till March 31, 2020.

In separate statements, RHB Banking Group managing director Datuk Khairussaleh Ramli said two of its employees -- one in RHB Bank–Yung Kong and one in RHB Islamic-Jalan Satok -- are immediate family members of two victims who had succumbed to COVID-19. Both are currently under home quarantine.

“We are taking all necessary precautionary measures to protect the health and safety of our customers, employees and our community.

As an added precaution, all RHB employees from these branches, with the exception of those who are manning the Cash Distribution Centre, have been placed under 14-days home quarantine, he said.

Khairussaleh said that there is no disruption to RHB’s banking services arising out of this closure. Customers of these branches are also advised to go to the nearest RHB Bank branch to conduct their banking transactions during the Movement Control Order period.

“We encourage all customers to use our internet and mobile banking services as well as self-service terminals to perform banking transactions, which include ATM, cash and cheque deposit machines,” he said.
