KUALA LUMPUR (May 6): Ranhill Holdings Bhd has bagged two water services contracts totalling RM5.96 million from Bina Darulaman Bhd.

The two contracts, clinched via its unit Ranhill Water Services Sdn Bhd (RWS), are part of the national non-revenue water (NRW) Programme in Perlis, where the letters of award were issued on April 1, although RWS only received them on May 5.

In a bourse filing today, Ranhill said the first letter of award is for a RM1.98 million 12-month contract, which involves the preparation of a customer meter replacement programme for the whole state, as well as to supply and install the targeted customer meters, including high metrology volumetric mechanical meters and ancillaries.

The second contract, valued at RM3.98 million and spanning 18 months, is for the replacement of system input volume meters, including ancillary equipment such as data loggers, pipework and valves.

“The contract also requires the digitising of assets through a geographical information system and installing an NRW management platform to formulate a comprehensive water distribution study for the state of Perlis,” it said.

Shares in Ranhill rose 2 sen or 2.04% to close at RM1 apiece today, giving it a market capitalisation of RM1.07 billion.
