KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 5): ParkCity Medical Centre (PMC) — a hospital under Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care (RSDH), a 50:50 joint venture between Sime Darby Bhd and Ramsay Health Care Ltd — has been recognised and accredited by the global leader healthcare accreditation Joint Commission International (JCI) for its well-managed organisation and commendable high quality of care and patient safety standards.

In a statement today, RSDH said PMC now joins the elite group of 977 healthcare facilities worldwide that have achieved the JCI Accredited Standard and Gold Seal of Approval.

With PMC's accreditation, all six RSDH hospitals including Ara Damansara Medical Centre and Subang Jaya Medical Centre in Malaysia as well as three facilities in Indonesia are now JCI Accredited Hospitals.

"This year's accreditation process of PMC, a hospital under RSDH, was conducted virtually for the first time in Malaysia by the body due to the ongoing pandemic by a team of international healthcare experts," said RSDH.

PMC chief executive officer (CEO) Ch'ng Lin Ling said the much-coveted JCI accreditation is the result of undergoing an exacting performance assessment and meeting a robust series of qualifications across the hospital that demonstrate sustainable improvement in the quality and safety of hospital processes and patient care delivery.

"The evaluation involved comprehensive inspection of our facilities, review of practices and procedures, and evidence of sustained compliance and improvement," she said.

In addition to the JCI accreditation, PMC also bagged the notable Frost and Sullivan Best Practices Award "2020 Malaysia Emerging Hospital of the Year".

According to Ling, the award is a measure of PMC's exceptional healthcare services with innovative and effective clinical solutions, compassionate and safe care to their patients and good customer review and top-notch medical professionals.

She added: "Achieving both the JCI accreditation as well as the Frost and Sullivan Best Practices Award in this unprecedented year is a reflection on the commitment and dedication of our doctors and employees of PMC. As a community hospital focusing on high quality, compassionate and safe patient care, these wins will keep PMC moving forward and continuing to aim higher as a world-class healthcare provider."

As at 3.33pm, Sime Darby was down five sen or 2.21% to RM2.21, giving it a market capitalisation of RM15.17 billion.
