KUALA LUMPUR(Dec 5): Put warrants, which are investors' cup of tea during a market downtrend, were among the top gainers on Bursa Malaysia this morning, as market sentiment turned bearish following the overnight tumble in US markets.

At press time, put warrants  with Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index as its underlying index were among the top gainers on Bursa Malaysia such as the HSI-H4R (up 13% to 91 sen), HSI-H4T( up 12.5%) to 90 sen, and the HSI-H4U(up 7.7% to RM1.26),  were among the top gainers on Bursa Malaysia. At time of writing, the Hang Seng index was down 1.6% to 26,822.26 points.

Reuters reported that Asian stocks were dragged down by Wall Street’s tumble as sharp declines in US Treasury yields and resurgent trade concerns stocked investor worries about global economic growth.

The SP500-HE put warrant, which underlying is the S&P500 index was also among the top gainers on Bursa Malaysia, up 59%.  The S&P 500 closed down 3.2% yesterday to 2,700.06 points.
