KUALA LUMPUR (April 4): A Singapore unit of Pintaras Jaya Bhd has been awarded five piling contracts worth a total of S$16 million (approximately RM48 million).

In a bourse filing today, the group said its wholly-owned subsidiary Pintary International Pte Ltd secured the five bored piling contracts through the group's sub-subsidiary Pintary Foundations Pte Ltd.

The works are set to commence between March and April, and the contract periods vary from three to five months. These contracts are expected to contribute positively to group earnings.

None of the directors or substantial shareholders or persons connected to the directors or substantial shareholders has any interest, direct or indirectly, in the contracts.

Pintaras Jaya shares closed 1.8% or four sen lower at RM2.16, valuing the company at RM364.90 million. Some 2,100 shares were traded today.
