KUALA LUMPUR (March 22): Pharmaniaga Bhd has inked an agreement with the government to supply and distribute 200,000 doses of imported Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine as finished products, it said today.

Under the supply and distribution agreement signed between Pharmaniaga's wholly-owned Pharmaniaga Lifescience Sdn Bhd (PLS) and the government, the Ministry of Health (MoH) will purchase the imported finished products from PLS, while PLS will distribute 200,000 doses to all facilities specified by the MoH.

The pharmaceutical company, however, did not elaborate on the value of the agreement. The agreement kicked off on March 17.

"The imported finished (products were) granted a conditional approval of Pharmaceutical Product During Disaster by the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency on March 2, 2021," Pharmaniaga said.

Last Monday, Pharmaniaga announced it had inked a separate supply and distribution agreement with the government to distribute 12 million doses of the Sinovac vaccine, which would be manufactured by Pharmaniaga here.

Shares of Pharmaniaga fell six sen or 1.77% to RM3.33 at the time of writing, valuing the group at RM871.48 million.
