GEORGE TOWN (May 9): DAP confirms it has retained all its 19 State seats and seven Parliamentary seats, according to state chief Chow Kon Yeow.

"That is all I can say. I cannot confirm the Pakatan Harapan coalition seats," he told reporters in the party's centre where they announced live updates. There are 40 State seats in Penang.

Chow, 59, won both the Padang Kota State and Tanjung Parliament seats he contested. He last contested and won the seats in 2008. He also revealed that DAP won the Pengkalan Kota State seat, which was contested by DAP's Daniel Gooi, against MCA candidate Lim Swee Bok.

DAP is a component party of Pakatan. The coalition is expected to form the State government for the third term.
