KUALA LUMPUR (June 29): Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Bhd, which is wholly-owned by the Minister of Finance Inc, has appointed Mohammed Rafidz Ahmed Rasiddi as president and group managing director from June 15, 2015.

In his new role, Rafidz will be responsible for steering the bank to continue playing an important role in the government’s objective to develop strategic sectors of the economy.

Rafidz has over 25 years of experience in financial services and capital markets industry where he has held senior and leadership positions in well-established and leading financial institutions in Malaysia.

Prior to joining Bank Pembangunan, he was the deputy chief executive officer and head of corporate investment banking at MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Bhd. 

With a combined asset value of around RM30 billion, Bank Pembangunan is mandated to provide medium to long term financing to the infrastructure, maritime, oil and gas and technology sectors.
