KUALA LUMPUR (June 23): The Ministry of Health (MoH) said 1,712 cases out of the total 8,590 Covid-19 cases in the country were found among those aged 18 years old and below, representing 19.9% of overall cases in the country.
Of those 1,712 cases, 346 or 20.2% were detected among those aged between 16 and 18 years old, said health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement today.
This group showed a good recovery rate, he said, as there were no fatalities from this group and none had to be admitted to intensive care.
He shared these statistics as he noted schools nationwide are starting to reopen in phases from tomorrow, while reminding both schools and students to adhere to the standard operating procedures and guidelines set by the authorities.
