KUALA LUMPUR (June 30): The Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) is reopening its venue from July 1, targeting the business event industry.

In a statement today, MITEC said as the nation’s largest venue, optimisation of space is possible for social distancing with strict compliance to security procedures and health protocols issued by the National Security Council and the Ministry of Health.

“The well-being of our guests and staff is of paramount importance as we resume our operations and therefore our team has implemented all health guidelines in place to safely welcome events back to MITEC,” said MITEC chief executive officer Gunther Beissel.

MITEC said its reopening comes with a focus on mitigating the risks while also driving economic growth for the country.

It added that it has partnered with the Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) for the ‘Let’s Meet Tomorrow’ and ‘Let’s Meet Locally’ campaigns, aimed at stimulating the domestic business events industry and to encourage new domestic events in Malaysia.

MITEC is located in KL Metropolis, an integrated development within Kuala Lumpur’s International Trade and Exhibition District.
