KUALA LUMPUR (May 15): Minetech Resources Bhd has won an RM30.4 million subcontract to build a new secondary school in Parit Buntar, Perak.

The group said the job to build the 36-classroom SMK Pelangi Perdana was awarded to its wholly-owned subsidiary, Minetech Construction Sdn Bhd, by Mutual Premium Sdn Bhd.

Work will commence on June 1 and is expected to be completed by Feb 13 next year, the group said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

It added that the project is expected to contribute positively to its revenue, earnings and net assets for the financial year ending March 31, 2021.

On April 22, Minetech announced that Minetech Construction was appointed by Bumimaju MTE Engineering Sdn Bhd as a contractor to undertake a  pipeline-laying project in Hulu Grik in Perak. However, the monetary value of the contract was not disclosed

Minetech’s share price closed one sen or 4% lower at 24 sen today, valuing the group at RM239.95 million. Some 36.78 million shares were traded today.

Year-to-date, the counter has surged by nearly three times from 8.5 sen.
