KUALA LUMPUR (April 22): Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) said its 61st annual general meeting (AGM), which was originally scheduled for April 15, 2021, is adjourned until May 6, 2021 at 10am.

"The adjournment was necessary due to a technical issue in respect of remote participation and voting facilities of the AGM on April 15, 2021,” Maybank said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday.

Maybank said the broadcast venue for the May 6 AGM is the Maybank Tower (Menara Maybank) along Jalan Tun Perak here.

On April 15, Maybank said in a filing with Bursa that the AGM then was rescheduled due to a technical issue faced by remote participation and voting facility provider Tricor Investor & Issuing House Services Sdn Bhd.

News reports quoted Tricor as saying then the inconvenience caused to its clients and business partners "is deeply regretted and all steps are being taken to ensure that all our forthcoming virtual AGMs proceed smoothly”.

At 10.28am today, Maybank’s share price was one sen or 0.12% higher at RM8.31, giving it a market value of about RM93.4 billion based on the group’s 11.24 billion issued shares.

Maybank is Malaysia’s most-valuable listed group.
