KUALA LUMPUR (June 18): Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) today issued US$35 million (about RM145 million) worth of bonds, which will be listed on the Singapore Exchange’s (SGX) Bond Market next Monday (June 21, 2021).

In a filing with the SGX today, Maybank said the notes, which will be due in 2026, will pay an annual interest rate of 1.27%.

The lead managers and bookrunners of the notes are Maybank Kim Eng Securities Pte Ltd and Daiwa Capital Markets Singapore Ltd, according to Maybank which did not specify how proceeds from the bond sale will be utilised.

At the noon break today, Maybank’s share price settled one sen or 0.12% higher at RM8.18, giving the group a market capitalisation of about RM93.33 billion.

Maybank has 11.41 billion issued shares, according to the group’s latest annual report.
