<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>In a statement yesterday, the bank said Zainal has been a director of Maybank Islamic since 2010 and previously served as chairman of Maybank Trustees Bhd.</p></div><div class=inPageAd id=div-gpt-ad-inpage></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Prior to that, Zainal was a director of Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) from July 2009 to April 2014.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>“He served as a member of the credit review committee, nomination and remuneration committee, and employees’ share scheme committee of the board.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>“His other current directorship within the Maybank group is as a director of Etiqa Takaful Bhd,” it said.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Zainal, 63, is a practising corporate and commercial lawyer. As the founder and senior partner, Zainal established the firm Zainal Abidin &amp; Co in 1987.</p></div>
