KUALA LUMPUR (June 27): The number of Covid-19 vaccine jabs declined to 187,877 doses yesterday, from 215,968 doses on Friday (June 25).

According to data provided by the Special Committee on Ensuring Access to Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV), 132,279 first doses were administered yesterday, with 55,598 individuals given their second dose.

As such, the seven-day moving average for Covid-19 vaccinations now stands at 221,707 doses.

According to National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, the government has revised its targets upwards to administer 300,000 doses per day from July and 400,000 per day in August.

In total, 7.23 million vaccine doses have been administered thus far. 5.20 million of them are first doses, while 2.02 million doses are second doses.

At least 15.9% of the population have their first dose, with 6.2% of the population being fully inoculated.

The country registered 5,803 new Covid-19 cases yesterday (June 26), down from the 5,812 infections seen Friday.

The cumulative number of cases in the country now stand at 728,462, according to a tweet by Ministry of Health (MoH) director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

Meanwhile, new recoveries stood at 5,193, bringing total recoveries to 662,932, representing 91% of the total number of cases.

As a result, active cases stood at 60,646, of which 866 patients were in the intensive care unit (ICU), with 435 of them requiring respiratory support.

The country also saw 81 deaths, bringing the total death toll from the coronavirus to 4,884, translating into a mortality rate of 0.67%.
