SEPANG (Feb 14): Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) will spend more than RM100 million to give the 39 airports it manages in the country a facelift this year and next.

Its managing director Datuk Badlisham Ghazali said the works will focus on upgrading the airports' toilets and surau.

He also said the airport operator has no plans to revise upwards its 5% passenger target growth for 2017. MAHB's passenger traffic kicked off to a good start this year, with 7.83 million passengers passing through Malaysian airports in January, up 13.3% from 6.92 million a year ago.

"We are among Malaysia's top performing government-linked companies, with revenue tripling from 10 years ago," said Badlisham in his opening keynote speech at the kick-off of MAHB's 25th anniversary celebration this evening.

He added that investor confidence has grown by leaps and bounds where MAHB's market capitalisation has grown about five times during the same period. The stock closed 9 sen or 1.35% lower at RM6.60 today, with a market capitalisation of RM10.95 billion.
