KUALA LUMPUR (July 22): Some 56 out of 70 Ministers and Deputy ministers have declared their assets to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, with the list published by the agency for public viewing earlier today.

The latest list, available on https://mydeclaration.sprm.gov.my, has updated the monthly income, and value of assets owned by each individual, which is now split across eight categories between under RM1 million and above RM20 million.

On the current list, 48 out of 56 Ministers and Deputy Ministers are millionaires, with 11 of them owning over RM10 million worth of assets.

From that, five possess assets over RM15 million — four of which exceeds RM20 million, namely Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Dr Jeffrey G Kitingan; Minister of Finance Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz; Minister of Federal Territories Tan Sri Annuar Musa; and Deputy Minister of Federal Territories Datuk Seri Dr Santhara Kumar Ramanaidu.

In terms of monthly income, the top three comprise Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) with a monthly income of RM93,841.65 as declared on July 15, followed by Minister of Federal Territories Tan Sri Annuar Musa of Umno with RM87,877.20.

In third place is Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Jeffrey G Kitingan of Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) with RM85,450.

At the bottom of the list is RM25,700 for both Deputy Minister (I) of Rural Development Datuk Henry Sum Agong of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu, and Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin of PPBM.

This is followed by Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities (I) Willie Mongin with a monthly income of RM33,450.

It was reported that Muhyiddin has announced that elected representatives in the Government must submit their asset declaration within three months from the date of their swearing-in. The practice of declaring assets among ministers and their deputies was initiated during the previous administration.
