The gainers included Danainfra Nasional Bhd, LPI Capital Bhd, Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd, Manulife Holdings Bhd, CI Holdings Bhd, Carlsberg Brewery (M) Bhd, Guiness Anchor Bhd and Yee Lee Corporation Bhd.

Asian stocks and the euro dipped on Thursday as markets erred on the side of caution over the ongoing Greek debt negotiations amid conflicting headlines on progress in the talks, according to Reuters.

MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was down 0.2 percent. South Korea's Kospi lost 0.2 percent. Japan's Nikkei bucked the trend and gained 1.6 percent thanks to a significantly weaker yen, it said.

Hong Leong IB Research said the FBM KLCI’s technical outlook has deteriorated following yesterday’s selldown.

“External and internal headwinds will continue to pressure the FBM KLCI lower ahead of Chinese New Year holidays next week,” it said.
