KUALA LUMPUR (March 3): Khazanah Nasional Bhd-backed national carrier Malaysia Airlines has reinstated its flights to Australia.

Malaysia Airlines said in a statement on Wednesday (March 2) that with the full reopening of Australia’s borders for eligible tourists beginning March 3, the airline will be reinstating connectivity to Perth with twice weekly flights and five times weekly flights to Sydney.

Starting April, frequency to Perth will be increased to five times weekly and seven times weekly to Sydney, it added.

The airline is offering all-in return fares to Perth starting from RM1,999 via the economy class and RM6,999 via the business class. The fares are bookable until March 6 and valid for immediate travel up to July 31.

Fares to Sydney are also available from as low as RM2,929 all-in return via the airline’s economy class and RM8,199 via the business class, bookable from now and for immediate travel up to March 28.

Malaysia Airlines paused flights to Australia in 2020 amid the Covid-19 crisis.

Meanwhile, the airline has offered significant savings on airfares to all domestic destinations within its network from now until March 13.

It said customers can enjoy fares from as low as RM79 all-in one-way via the economy class and RM359 via the business class to destinations within Peninsular Malaysia for immediate travel up to June 30.
