KUALA LUMPUR (April 30): Trouble is brewing in MyPPP as Tan Sri M Kayveas, who had purported resigned as president on April 25, today said he is withdrawing his resignation.

In an Instagram post, which he also tweeted, Kayveas said: "We need to restore respect and credibility. The party needs to be cleaned up. It cannot be allowed to be done the way it was done. Therefore, I have no alternative but to withdraw my earlier peaceful and amicable intention to step down which was refused by the Supreme Council and resume all my duties. To avoid members and office-bearers (from) being bullied we need to restore Professionalism over amateurism."

He also posted a letter dated April 28 addressed to Datuk Mohan Kandasamy, MyPPP's secretary-general, alleging numerous discrepancies in the way proceedings to remove him were conducted.

Kayveas also stated in his letter that he was replacing Mohan as the secretary-general and appointing Assistant Secretary-General Datuk Simon Suresh Sabapathy as Acting Secretary-General.

On April 25, Kayveas had announced on social media that he was resigning as president of MyPPP, advisor to the MyPPP Perak Exco and chairman of the Federal Territories MyPPP. However, later that day Mohan Kandasamy confirmed that Kayveas was no longer party president and member following his sacking by the party’s supreme council on April 25.

Mohan had told Bernama that the decision to sack Kayveas as MyPPP president and member with immediate effect was fuelled by the latter working against the interests of the party and Barisan Nasional.
