KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 2): Furniture maker Jaycorp Bhd said it is implementing a seven-day closure of operation at its Air Tawar factory in Merlimau, Melaka, after 47 employees were tested positive for Covid-19.

In a bourse filing, Jaycorp said its wholly-owned subsidiary Yeo Aik Wood Sdn Bhd (YAWSB) had conducted a Covid-19 full screening on the entire workforce at the factory, which covered 145 employees, both foreign and local.

"Those that tested positive have been quarantined and isolated," it added.

It also noted that management has received a notice of closure from the Ministry of Health from Dec 2 to 8 for sanitisation purposes.

"The management does not expect any material impact to its financial performance," Jaycorp said.

Jaycorp shares ended two sen or 1.23% higher at RM1.65 on Thursday (Dec 2), bringing a market capitalisation of RM226.46 million.
