<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>KUALA LUMPUR (July 3): IOI Corp Bhd managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Lee Yeow Chor has been made the new chairman of the Malaysian Palm Palm Oil Association (MPOA).</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>In a statement, the MPOA said that Lee was elected as chairman for a period of two years from 2020 to 2022 during its annual general meeting and council meeting held on Monday.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Lee succeeds Datuk Franki Anthony Dass, whom has retired from his role after serving the MPOA from 2016 to 2020.</p></div><div class=inPageAd id=div-gpt-ad-inpage></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Dass is chief adviser and value officer at Sime Darby Plantation Bhd and is a veteran of the oil palm industry.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Lee previously served as the chairman of the Malaysian Palm Oil Council from February 2009 to March 2020.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>"His vast and long experience in the industry will definitely give the association the added boost in addressing issues plaguing the plantation sector," said the MPOA.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>At the same council meeting, Hap Seng Plantations Holdings Bhd CEO Au Yong Siew Fah was also re-elected as vice chairman.</p></div>
