KUALA LUMPUR (June 27): Nokia’s latest smartphone, the Nokia 2.2 is set to hit Malaysian authorised dealer stores beginning this Friday (June 28) at a recommended retail price of RM399.

HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, in a statement today said the Nokia 2.2 smartphone delivers sophisticated AI-powered low light imaging and dedicated access to Google Assistant at a truly attractive price.

It said the Nokia 2.2 is the first 2 series Nokia smartphone to be part of the Android One programme, offering users the latest full Android experience.

HMD Global said shipping with Android 9 Pie, Nokia 2.2 is will receive two years of OS upgrades and three years of monthly security updates, ensuring access to all the latest innovations from Android.

The Nokia 2.2 is available in ‘Steel’ and ‘Tungsten Black’.

HMD Global country manager (Malaysia and Myanmar) Vijay Thangavelu said the company believes that the latest and greatest innovations in the industry should be available for everyone.

He said this includes the best Android experience even for entry-level smartphones.

“The Nokia 2.2 will provide users exactly that. It brings the pinnacle of AI experience such as the sophisticated low light image fusion and Google Lens to more users than ever.

“Nokia 2.2 is also future-proofed as it is Android Q ready and we are thrilled to see Android’s next wave of innovation,” he said.
