KUALA LUMPUR (March 30): Hong Leong Assurance (HLA) and Hong Leong MSIG Takaful has jointly pledged RM1 million by offering a complimentary dual special benefits programme in a bid to help to ease their insurance policyholders’ financial burden when they contracted Covid-19.

Under this programme, both HLA and Hong Leong MSIG Takaful customers with medical coverage will receive hospitalisation benefits of RM200 per day up to 30 days of hospitalisation upon Covid-19 diagnosis. Should death occur, RM10,000 will be paid out as compassionate benefits to their family members, said HLA in the press statement today.

“This is our way of going the extra mile to provide financial support to our valued customers. Furthermore, this complimentary special benefit comes at no additional cost and is given in addition to our current benefits such as hospital income, daily cash allowance at government hospitals, and 80% cashback for unutilised Room & Board benefits,” it added in a statement today. 

HLA said this benefit will be given out on a first come, first served basis from Feb 28 till June 30, 2020. Customers who have recently purchased their medical plans during the duration of the programme are also entitled to the benefits, without a waiting period.
