KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 8): HeiTech Padu Bhd today launched its next-generation Security Operation Centre as-a-service (SOCaaS) in collaboration with RSA Security to provide cybersecurity management for mid-tier companies in the Malaysian market.

The service suite, dubbed NexGen SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), is powered by the Netwitness Platform by RSA Security, which is known for developing world-class risk management solutions.

The service suite will be marketed under HeiTech Padu’s Secure-X managed security services line. As a customised product suite, Secure-X allows for customisations including flexible licensing, with the components packaged in a pay-as-you-grow subscription model.

This reduces operational expenses, and avoids over-provisioning and translates to low cost of ownership for a world-class security service, the company said.

“This needs-based approach provides organisation wanting to subscribe to Secure-X Suite with low start-up cost and later scale up accordingly,” the company added.

“We are excited to roll out these offerings to the Malaysian market,” said HeiTech Padu executive vice president Abdul Halim Md Lassin in a press conference today.

“HeiTech Padu’s experience in the local cybersecurity industry, combined with the expertise from RSA Security, positions Secure-X’s NexGen SIEM as a game-changer in managing security in today’s increasingly complex business environment,” Abdul Halim said.

The NexGen SIEM is targeted at mid-tier organisations from both the private and public sector with 500 to 1,000 users. It is also suitable for data-sensitive segments like banking considering HeiTech Padu's high-security ecosystem governing its facilities and data centres.

RSA Security South East Asia & Greater China region general manager Charles Lim said the reality today is that as a business grows, so does its dependency on technology.

“As advocates of digital transformation ourselves, teaming up with HeiTech Padu signifies our commitment and dedication to bring about change in how Malaysian businesses manage risk,” Lim said.

At the launch of the product today, HeiTech Padu also inked a memorandum of understanding with RSA Security and CyberSecurity Malaysia to explore future collaborations in relation with this array of services, tapping into CyberSecurity Malaysia’s expertise to further build capacity and capabilities to address the market.

“CyberSecurity Malaysia has been in collaboration with HeiTech Padu for some time now and we are proud to inform that HeiTech Padu is a strategic partner through the Cybersecurity Malaysia Collaboration Programme,” said CyberSecurity Malaysia chief executive officer Datuk Dr Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab.

“This event is a landmark of the progress of its information security services offerings where CyberSecurtiy Malaysia assists to build its capacity and capability. These services will add more options to the market to choose according to the organisations’ needs especially with cost-optimisation being in the forefront,” Amirudin said.

At midday break today, HeiTech Padu dipped 1% or 1 sen to 98.5 sen, valuing it at RM99.71 million.
