KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 23): Hap Seng Trucks Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hap Seng Consolidated Bhd, has appointed Marc Legeay as its new chief executive with effect from Dec 1.

Hap Seng Trucks is part of the Hap Seng’s automotive division, which is a general distributor of Daimler Trucks in Malaysia.

In a statement, the group said Legeay will succeed Roland Schneider, who has led the successful acquisition of the commercial vehicle wholesale distribution business from Mercedes-Benz Malaysia and the subsequent set up of Hap Seng Trucks Distribution.

Schneider will be taking over a new role as chief executive of Lei Shing Hong Commercial Vehicles in China.

Hap Seng said Legeay is well equipped to lead Hap Seng Trucks with his 18 years of international experience within the automotive industry.

Hap Seng’s share price closed six sen or 0.72% higher at RM8.45, bringing a market capitalisation of RM21.04 billion. There were 270,900 shares traded.
