KUALA LUMPUR (June 9): Shares in rubber glove makers ended with smaller gains at noon market break today as some profit taking emerged following some of the stocks hitting all-time highs.

At noon break, Top Glove Corp Bhd pared some its gains — after it hit an all-time high of RM17.24 earlier in the morning, by rising as much as 5.25% or 86 sen — and rose 1.59% or 26 sen to RM16.64, after some 17.97 million shares exchanged hands.

At the current share price now, it now has a market capitalisation of RM43.87 billion.

Similarly, Hartalega Holdings Bhd, whose share price also reached its record high of RM13.50 after gaining as much as 10.65% or RM1.30 this morning, also saw profit-taking activity. At the time of writing, the counter's gains eased to 2.95% or 36 sen at RM12.56, valuing it at RM43.57 billion. There were some 11.98 million shares traded so far today.

For Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd, which had risen as much as 4.12% or 37 sen to RM9.35, it ended with smaller gains of 1.67% or 15 sen at RM9.13 by noon break. At its current share price of RM9.13, it has a market capitalisation of RM11.70 billion. There were 5.03 million shares exchanging hands.

Meanwhile, Supermax Corp Bhd reversed all its gains this morning and fell into a negative territory.

The counter rose as much as 4.73% or 42 sen to RM9.30 — reaching an all-time high as well — before settling down to RM8.85, edging down 0.34% or three sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM11.61 billion. There were some 14.66 million shares traded.
