(July 28): The fourth person hauled up by the special task force investigating 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) was released on bail today.

Magistrate Nik Isfahanie Tasnim Ab Rahman allowed managing director Datuk Rosman Abdullah, 48, to be released on a RM100,000 bail with two sureties.

His remand order expired today.

Rosman was detained on Friday night to facilitate investigations into the controversy surrounding the state-owned company.

His release leaves despatch rider Tazri Talib, 27, the only individual in Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) custody.

Tazri was arrested on Saturday at his family home in Bentong, Pahang.

His four-day remand order ends tomorrow and like the rest, he is also expected to be released on bail.

The decision will only be made known tomorrow morning.

The 1MDB task force detained several people last week as part of the unit's probe into the state investment arm's scandal.

The task force in charge of investigating the 1MDB case made their first arrest last Monday when they picked up Jerome Lee, 39, group executive director of construction firm Putrajaya Perdana Berhad.

Lee was previously employed as an investment director with 1MDB. A day later, Datuk Shamsul Anwar Sulaiman of Ihsan Perdana Sdn Bhd was picked up, followed by the 28-year-old sole owner of a trading company, Ariffin Ismail Shahul Hameed the next day. Rosman and Tazri were picked up in the following days.

Shamsul, Lee and Rosman were released on RM100,000 bail with two guarantors each and Ariffin on RM50,000 bail, also with two guarantors, after their remands ended. - The Malaysian Insider
